Now, the Louisiana 19-year-old has been sentenced to prison for four months, according to the Associated Press.

Munsen faced up to one year in prison after he pleaded guilty in April to a misdemeanor charge of interfering with the marchers' federally protected right to travel.

The marchers were waiting in Alexandria for a bus ride home to Tennessee, and had been protesting the criminal cases against six black teenagers charged with beating a white student at Jena High School in 2006.

Initially, the students were charged with second-degree attempted murder and conspiracy. After nationwide criticism, the charges were reduced.
