Hip Hop Music Reviews and Rap CD Reviews – The only source you can trust!
A number of years ago a certain magazine ruined rap album reviews by rarely going outside 3 and 4.5 on the 5 point rating scale. To this day most cats stick within those parameters with hip hop music reviews and R’n’B reviews. HipHopDX is changing all that, we’re using everything between 0 and 5 and dissecting LP’s with knowledge and perspective not seen often anymore. Credible rap CD reviews are about the only way to sift through all the garbage out there these days, HipHopDX has got that.

Kanye West - 808's & Heartbreak
Monday, November 24, 2008
For many, auto-tune is only tolerable in small doses, if at all. Through little more than sheer talent Kanye still managed to make an album that begs repeated listens; even if it is only for 75% of it. Welcome to Heartbreak.

Junclassic - Overqualified
Sunday, November 23, 2008
Either way it’s more than academic when it comes to the album, Overqualified. Junclassic’s skills and experience more than qualify when it comes to creatively getting the job done.

Lil Keke - Loved By Few, Hated By Many
Saturday, November 22, 2008
Loved By Few, Hated By Many finds itself in a predicament. As we go past the era of going gold in Texas alone, rappers seek the out of region support needed to get recognition. Lil Keke does not find the means seen by UGK or Chamillionaire to do so

Ace Hood - Gutta
Friday, November 21, 2008
As we established already, originality is important, but it isn’t everything. With enough bang and enough guest spots to make radio heads happy, this album is bound to attract some fans to the Floridian rapper’s debut.

Reef The Lost Cauze - A Vicious Cycle
Thursday, November 20, 2008
Despite A Vicious Cycle’s quality material and its horrendous material, its biggest flaw is that too much of it falls right in the middle.

The Alchemist - Alchemist's Cookbook EP
Wednesday, November 19, 2008
It’s a very solid release, and aside from one instance, there isn’t much to complain about. As with all EPs, there’s little room for error.

Beyonce - I Am...Sasha Fierce
Tuesday, November 18, 2008
I Am...Sasha Fierce would have worked so much better as an EP, instead of the double disc LP it is now. It's bloated and as her lover Jay-Z can attest, quality is better than quantity

Crooked I - The Block Obama II EP
Monday, November 17, 2008
You'd be hard pressed to actually find anything wrong with the Block Obama II, other than the fact that it's an EP as opposed to a proper album. As such, you can’t help but wonder if he’s holding back some of the real fireworks for later
